OWFI award

I attended the Oklahoma Writers' Federation, Inc. Conference in Norman, Ok in May 2009, and was rewarded with an Honorable Mention certificate for a poem that I wrote during the heat of last summer. It is titled "For The Birds". To win any award among such prestigious and talented competition is truly satisfying.

Changes on the way!

My first book has been such a blessing in disguise. Through its publication I've met some wonderful people, learned some important things, and launched a late in life career. That's pretty good, huh? That little book has "introduced" me to an agent who has been negotiating the sale of my next novel "Bawdy Old Broads". Things are still in the pre-release stages. As soon as I have a copy of the cover, and additional information, I'll post it here. "Bawdy Old Broads" will have its own website.

Elvis takes another bow!

My short story, Elvis, Upstaged, took another Honorable Mention in the May 20,2006 Personal Memoir Contest in Byline Magazine. This is one little story that I am going to expand on and submit to Amazon Shorts.

Award from Byline Magazine!

I received notice that The Stalker, my entry into the April 2006 Byline Magazine contest for Flash Ficton, has won Honorable Mention in a field of one hundred-eleven entries. I am very pleased to receive this recognition of my work among writers from all across the country. The award is noted in the July/August edition of Byline Magazine. There is also mention of the release of my novel in the IN PRINT column of this magazine.

Award Winner!

Last December (2005) I entered a humerous short story in a contest sponsored by www.inthelibraryreviews.com . In February I was notified that my story had earned Honorable Mention. The title of that story is: "Elvis, Upstaged". It is about a family vacation in Branson, and an evening at one of the shows. I am currently reworking it into a longer short story (is that an oxymoron?) to submit to Amazon Shorts.
